So juicy...

That's chicken breasts in the bag.  It comes with seasoning. You can get three varieties in the So Juicy collection.  It's so easy! Put the seasoning in the bag, add the chicken (any style) and give it a shake.  Make sure all the chicken is coated, poke three holes in the top and place on a cookie sheet. Bake away!

Then clean up is so easy. Toss the bag.

The chicken is so yummy !!!

Wondering if I could have done those potatoes in the bag too?

Groupon Quepons

The kids and I are all set for some fun adventure because of some great deals I found on Groupon!

For Mama's Day we went to Colour Me Mine:

We painted measuring cups:) it was Mom's choice. So practical.

I have to say I wouldn't go back.  Even with the Groupon deal my four measuring cups cost $50+ but it was made priceless because we did it for Mom's Day and the cups turned out really nice.

For this summer we have Groupons for:

2 coupons for Jenda Paddlesports, one full day kayak rental (which includes two seater kayaks)

www.jenda.com

Two coupons for Camp Fortune Ziplining three hrs for two people

www.campfortune.com

A family coupon for Saunder's Country Critters, Munster

www.saunderscountry.com

Two coupons for two adults for a tour of the Bonnechere Caves

www.bonnecherecaves.com/

I can't wait to do these with the kids.

Adventure awaits this summer!

Oh and for the other flip flop wearing boy that was in my life for a brief moment:

You still owe me $40

Not classy at all

Boudoir Update

So because of the red paint in my room, the Groupon coupon probably only covering so much and I still feel awful about what happen to the owner GBE Painting I decided to "prep" my room.

I filled in all the holes left by the nails that held the paneling up before, so Saturday I sanded:

It was messy!  Dust everywhere! Pink dust coated the carpet!

I then mopped the walls & vacuumed the carpet.

Final prep step: I put on one rough coat of primer:

I think it covered the red pretty good:)

I am thinking of wallpapering the wall behind my bed... Then the paint colours will be: Marshmallow and Artisan

Only you can guess what those colours actually are teehee :)

So thankful!

Today I am most grateful for:

A grrrreat run!  Third 1/2 marathon so fun!

Very very thankful to Mirka for giving me a ride down, waiting and cheering me on then the ride home:)

Surprise fans cheering me on and even running a bit with me. Thx Kathy best surprise!  Love surprises!

Seeing two familiar faces running!  We are awesome Karen and Chris!!!!

While running, a trip down memory lane.

Getting my boudoir prepped!

Good sleeps!

Tea with some fantastic people!

Lettuce free salad?

So here is my lunch three out of five days of the week.  Maybe not exactly a salad.  No lettuce or dressing but always a big bucket of hummus on the side:)

Don't put it on your toast!!!

Each year in my class we have to come up with a gift for the mamas for Mother's Day... This year we made body butter:)

I found this Pin:

But so you don't have to go look it up this is how you make it:)

You need:

1 cup coconut oil
An essential oil (add as much as you'd like to scent your butter).
1 tsp vitamin E oil (optional)

Place all ingredients in a bowl and beat together for 6-7 minutes on high.  A Kitchen Aid mixer works best but you can use a hand held mixer too.

It should whip up and become light and frothy.  Store it in an airtight container.  It will melt when it makes contact with your skin but rub in nicely.  Not too greasy:). It may harden after time but still can be used.  If it becomes too liquidy you can put it in your fridge.

Miss Robyn's Version

For my trial batch, before making it with my class, I used 1 cup of coconut oil but for the scent I used vanilla you would bake with (a capful).  I didn't use any vitamin E.

I love it!!! Literally you could eat it...

Have fun with it;)

WOW

So last week I talked about the Groupon to have my bedroom painted...
I called yesterday to book something and I ended up talking to the owner's brother.

He went on to tell me the owner's ex-wife and his four year old daughter had been killed in a car accident last Wednesday.

I was stunned.

He was the nicest man.  I missed his name when he mentioned it because I was trying not to cry.  He said their family was spiritual and that he believed He needed her for something else...

We probably spoke for 10 minutes and I felt awful leaving my info but he reassured me his brother would call eventually.  I told him it didn't matter.  I just was stunned.

I hung up and wonder how our conversation came to be and why we ended up talking? Yes I called about the painting Groupon but it was WAY more than that!

I try to always keep in mind that there is always someone worse off than you... This helps me get through whatever I am going through...

The owner's situation...
Is unimaginable to me...
Stunned

That conversation will forever remain a part of me.

Thankful for:

Is bigger better?

These 3 apples came from three different places.  The smallest is a grocery store bag of apples.  The second is a Costco apple and the largest is from Loblaws.

I know you'd think the largest would be from Costco because everything is bigger there!

None of them are organic.

Did you know apples are part of the dirty dozen?  Meaning they contain the most pesticides:(

So I guess we should all be buying organic... Whether it is for less pesticides or no pesticides but also so there is no genetic mutations.  Have you seen the size of some of those grapes?

Just something to ponder...

So my budget is pretty tight.  I know myself when it comes to spending.  On a bad day I can have a "you only live once" attitude ... And away I go spending.  Usually purchasing things I do not really "need".
So I have learned a few things not to do that have helped me:
* I don't look at flyers unless there is something I need ~ & it is usually something for my home
*i try not to just wander through stores.  Only go if I need something
* I don't eat out ~ save it for a special occasion
* use my PTs ~ Shoppers Optimum, PC PTs and Airmiles (you can now use them as cash for purchases where you collect them 95pts=$10)

Why not?

I have purple hair.

It isn't my entire head but a select few highlights and tips.  Thanks to my hair designer Manon.

Yes she bleached the pieces/parts first and then I have been maintaining the purple using Manic Panic.  I just retouched it last night and it looked a bit like the murder scene of Barney.  Hey I only had one glove so managing this way lead to a few spills and drips.  Thank goodness for bleach and yes my other hand by the end was purple:p

See it is subtle.  Some see it, some say it is blue and some might even ignore it:0)

Why do I do it? Why not!  It doesn't hurt anyone!

And it can always be changed back:) or a new colour introduced once the purple fades away.  Hmmmmm a whole rainbow to choose from and summer is coming...

To paint to paint...or just hire someone else to?

Debating painting my railings...

I plan to do the spindles white and the railing black, a dark high gloss super shiny black...
Most likely a summer project:)

But as for my nouveau boudoir, there is a Groupon coupon (quepon:) $69 and they will paint it for me... It is a big room with cathedral ceilings...I would have to get an extension ladder... Come home and it would be done in a day... Hopefully they would do my two colours... Am I answering my own question?  Should I get the Groupon? Yes:)
