I am not a Grandma yet

So I couldn't live with my grey hair:( I joined FB groups of brave ladies who committed to their grey but for me to go it seemed that I would have to lighten my hair in order to blend my grey...& that wasn't what I wanted. I would be continuing to dye my hair (I was trying to avoid any more dying that's why I did the OOPS solution).  See Am I a Silver Fox?

This is where my grey was evident the most, at the temples and sides of my hair line.  I felt self conscious about putting my hair up. It's hard to tell from the photo but it was quite grey...even white.

This is after I dyed my roots. So I did not completely dye all of the grey out, I left some glitter strands.  I am just trying to minimize the amount of dye I am using...usually every two weeks.

My hair is somewhat lighter since removing the all over dye and I am not sure if I like it

FINAL DECISION:  on going grey, I have decided it will be when I am a Grandma...and that won't be for a long time

Dapher-doo

Well her teeth got pulled.

Four to be exact, that is five in total.  There was a baby tooth that was loose so they pulled that one too yesterday.

Daphne was a trooper.  She dreaded the needle that would be given for freezing--it ended up being 5 needles to get her mouth frozen!  I thought it would have been the freezing paste but I guess for this amount of teeth they had to go with needle freezing?!

As previously mentioned, here Daph did not want to be "put to sleep" for her surgery so while she was lying there she opened her eyes just as they pulled one of the teeth out! That is why I prefer to be "put under".  I think I would have passed out if I witnessed that!

She managed to eat some yogurt and ice cream last night and had very little pain.

Braces by the summer is the prediction.

And then hopefully Daphne will smile big & bright.

A Night Of Aimee

This is my youngest sister Aimee.

The other night I did three things she recommended:

1) Try the Harvest Kale Salad from Farm Boy with their Apple Cider Vinaigrette.

I liked it because it was quick (15 minutes or 20 if your chicken is a wee bit still frozen), you get to crank your oven up to 500F (I have never cooked at that temp before) and I used salad dressing rather than the herbs and olive oil they suggested (which made it even faster to make).

3) Watch SIX on the History channel (I streamed it using TVADDONS, so I was able to do a mini marathon of several episodes) The main actor is Walton Goggins , whom I really enjoy watching.

Thank you Aimee for a great night!!

Doodles

So Daphne had a dentist appointment two weeks ago, to have 4 teeth removed. She was unfortunately blessed with both her parents overcrowded mouth. Both of us had braces and I had 4 teeth removed, at four different times, (16 teeth pulled) when I was younger than her.

Notice she doesn't smile showing teeth...

For Daphne's extractions, Dr. Rorke, our orthodontist, gave us the option of going to an oral surgeon or going to our regular dentist.  Daphne insisted on going to our regular dentist because as she put it, she did not want "to be put to sleep".  Upon a consultation about which teeth were to be pulled, our dentist mentioned giving Daph something to relax (nitrous oxide), guess what she said?

No

So, at this past dentist appointment, only one tooth was ready to be pulled.  She came out of the appointment not too impressed...not because it was her first tooth extraction and she was uncomfortable because she had only had freezing (which by the way is now a paste they spread on your gums rather than a needle!!) but because they did not pull all four!

I think the next day she was grateful she did not have all four of them pulled.  She did not go to school, she couldn't eat solids for a few days.
This coming week we go back to see if the other three are ready to be pulled...
That will be another adventure.

What is this?

I received this as a gift and didn't know what it was...

I put it in my bathroom on my shower. Who doesn't want a parrot in their bathroom?

It came with a towel and some other fun beachy stuff.

I realized it is for my towel when it is laid upon a chair. you use the clip to keep the towel on the chair.

Didn't realize this until I saw someone using them in Vegas and then I forgot it when we went to Cuba. So I think I need to go on another "hot" vacation so I can use it:)

Paul? :)

Or I can save it for the cottage.

Beach Etiquette

Beach etiquette : Just a reminder to those travelling this March Break

  • Be careful when adjusting your bathing suit. No one needs to know your religion so keep Nancy the Nipple and Tommy the Testicle tucked away.

  • Personal space still exists at the beach, watch where you set your chaise lounge or towel. Not right beside me.

  • Smoking still not cool at the beach

  • Nor is you playing your techno country hill billy music for all to hear

  • If you brought it to the beach, take it back (garbage, toy, children etc).

  • Shake your towel, spray your sunscreen away from others this also goes for smoking blow it elsewhere

  • The ocean is clear, we can all see what you are doing
